Training & Competition
The best of horses are nothing without education and cooperation with their rider. Our training team can help establish that education from very first steps to advanced competition.
HIlary Scott, who very successfully campaigns the Oaks Show Jumpers, is a talented trainer of young horses and riders.
Todd Hinde is also an anchor member of the Oaks Show Jumping Team. Both Hilary and Todd are encouraging and exacting teachers
At our Orangeville property, Oaks Grove, we offer breaking in and training, for young horses through to seasoned campaigners.
We are fortunate to have the services of Cole Moxey for breaking-in and starting horses. Cole is a breeder and competitor of Australian Stock Horses, and a wonderful empathetic horseman. He and partner, Fiona Boardman, won the Futurity at the 2011 ASH Nationals.
Our training services include:
- Breaking-in, usually 5-7 weeks
- Educating horses on the flat and over jumps
- Rider coaching with Hilary Scott or Todd Hinde
- Assistance to horse and rider at competitions
- Preparing and riding horses for competition
- Getting horses used to varied experiences, arena work, trail riding, cross country
- Agistment and stabling for horses in our care.
- Videos of horse/rider at developmental stages to monitor progress
