‘Abracadabra’ puts in a magic performance at Sydney Royal

With the Sydney Royal Easter Show about to wrap up, we take a look at some of the top performances by Oaks Horses at the Show

In the Young Rider Category Oaks Kestrel was ridden by Sienna Holdsworth-Rose into fourth place in the first round, and a second placing in Round 3.

Brad Frankum and Oaks Calypso took a pair of rails in finishing fourth in a small field in the Section 1 Final.

Oaks Evergreen TS, ridden by James Paterson-Robinson performed well in Section 3. They were third in Round 1, then fourth in Round 2. In Round 3, they just missed out on the jump-off in finishing seventh, before a pair of rails saw then finish down the list in the Final.

The Oaks star of the show, however, was Oaks Abracadabra ridden by Emma Collins in the Section 2 competition. The best performed horse in Section 2 was named as Cadenza NZPH on the basis of winning three of the four classes involved and completing seven clear rounds out of seven, however, he did not have it all his own way. Oaks Abracadabra was the only horse, along with Emma, to beat Cadenza, taking home the blue ribbon for winning the Second round of the competition. In a two-way jump-off, Abracadabra and Emma scooted around the course clear in 53.27 seconds, just eclipsing the second horse’s time of 53.91 and in doing so, denying them a clean sweep of the section.

Abracadabra has stepped up to a new level and we are excited to see what magic she has in store for us.
