After knocking on the door several times in recent months, Oaks Cryptic (Contendro I x Oaks Clovelly) broke through for a win in the 7-year-old class last Sunday at the Sydney Jumping Association (SJA) competition day.
Ridden beautifully by Jess Brown, the combination was very impressive in taking out the class over 1.25m class. Co-owned by Jess and her father Rod’s company Equus Australia, this lovely mare has a bright future ahead of her.
The success on Sunday came after Oaks Cryptic and Jess took out the style award for the 7-year-olds at the recent Oaks Sport Horses Young Horse Day which opened the Waratah World Cup Show. A double clear performance saw them place fifth in the 7-year-old jumping class, which was followed 2 days later with a sixth placing in the Waratah Show Futurity final at 1.35m.
We look forward to see how Cryptic continues to advance through the grades and to see her competing at the top level one day.
