Sam and ‘Cassanova’ star at GDP

The 2024 GDP classic was held down at Boneo Park last weekend, with the The feature class of the weekend being the Martin Collins Australia Grand Prix. Over the two rounds there were only three of the 25 combinations who managed to go double clear and the winners, by a margin of almost five seconds were Sam Overton and his pocket rocket gelding Oaks Cassanova. Their Round 2 time was 53.36 seconds, which earned them the first prize of $20,000, putting Sarah McMillan and Tyrone into second place, finishing in 58.22 seconds. Robert Palm and his gelding Jaybee Vibrant were third, in 60.77. It was a fantastic class to watch, bringing together many of the best combinations in Australia to compete for the whopping $60,000 prize pool.
