Oaks Stars at GDP Classic

It wasn’t only Sam Overton and Oaks Cassanova who shone at the GDP Classic last weekend by tasking out the Grand Prix, other Oaks horses also made their mark. With almost $20,000 on the line, the Mini Prix was a hard fought class with six finishing Round 2 on zero penalties it was Emma Collins and Oaks Abracadabra who recorded the fastest time, finishing in 46.95 seconds. Clem Smith and Quantico 12 were second, with a round two time of 47.37 seconds and Sarah Duggan and Dublin third in 48.82 seconds.

The Rising Stars Final saw Brook Dobbin and Oaks Empire take the win from the 11 clears that went into the jump off. Brooke and Empire went clear in 39.74 seconds 0.05 seconds ahead of Gabrielle Kelly and Californium, with Jamie Hewitt-Toms and Balou Du Rose rounding off the podium in 40.21 seconds.

The beautiful GDP Classic certainly didn’t disappoint this year and was made even sweeter by the success of these lovely Oaks horses.
